RMUTL Research and Development Institute Welcomes Delegation from RMUTP to Strengthen Collaboration in Research and Commercial Innovation

On June 6, 2025, the Research and Development Institute of Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna (RMUTL), led by Dr. Rattanapol Panomwan Na Ayudhya, Acting Director of the Institute, Asst. Prof. Wisut Asanwijit, Deputy Director, and the institute’s personnel, warmly welcomed Dr. Chalakorn Udomraksasukul, Director of the Research Institute at Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP), and his delegation during their study visit and knowledge-sharing session on research and innovation management. The event was held at the Creative and Innovation Technology Management Institute (CiNT), RMUTL.

The visit was honored by the presence of Dr. Sasipat Suntakolkij, Assistant to the President; Asst. Prof. Dr. Piyamas Tancharoenrat, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Agricultural Technology; and Dr. Tawan Watakit, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Liberal Arts, who also joined the reception and collaborative discussions on enhancing research and intellectual property (IP) management systems.

The study visit featured a presentation of RMUTL’s best practices in the following areas:

  • Promotion and support for intellectual property utilization and commercialization

  • Case studies of successful research and innovation outputs that have been developed into business ventures

  • Operation of the University Business Incubator (UBI) in translating patents into ready-to-use innovations and nurturing young entrepreneurs

  • Development of prototype research products in the Makerspace: Innovation Lab, which supports creative design and prototyping using modern technologies

  • Showcase of the Center of Excellence in Medical Materials and Innovation, focusing on the application of materials science in the healthcare industry

This visit served not only as a platform for exchanging knowledge and experience in research management, but also marked the beginning of enhanced collaboration between the two universities. The goal is to drive research outputs toward real-world applications and support Thailand’s sustainable innovation-based economic development.
