RMUTL Hosts the 11th Conference on Research and Creative Innovations (CRCI 2025) – A National Platform Driving Research Towards a Sustainable Future

Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna (RMUTL), in collaboration with the Upper Northern Thailand University Network, organized the 11th Conference on Research and Creative Innovations (CRCI 2025) from 7–8 August 2025 at ThongKhawao Conference Hall, RMUTL Main Building, and via online broadcasting (Facebook Live: RMUTL Research and Development Institute). The event served as a platform for knowledge exchange, showcasing research, inventions, innovations, and creative works from researchers nationwide, while expanding academic collaboration towards the international arena.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Assoc. Prof. Wichet Thipprasert, Acting President of RMUTL, who delivered the welcome remarks and officially opened the conference. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anchalee Sanguanpong, Advisor to the Association of Thai Innovation and Invention Promotion (ATIP), gave the opening report. A video presentation highlighted the 10-year history and development of the CRCI conference series.

Commemorative gifts were presented to distinguished guests and network partners, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Peeradej Thong-umpai, Advisor to the Program Management Unit for Area-Based Development (PMU-A); Mr. Porames Aridech, Director of the National Village and Urban Community Fund Office, Region 1; and Mr. Jirapath Jawana, President of Siam Tools Engineering Co., Ltd. Network institutions recognized included Chiang Mai University, Maejo University, Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, Far Eastern University, Payap University, North-Chiang Mai University, Phitsanulok University, and Lampang Rajabhat University, along with several professional associations and private sector organizations.

Key activities during the conference included:

  • Special Lecture on “Next Step: Enhancing National Competitiveness through Transforming Upper Northern Thailand University Network and Research, Knowledge, Technology, and Innovation Management Towards the Future” by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Peeradej Thong-umpai.

  • Academic Panel Discussion on “From University Innovation to Community Development and the Challenges of Taking Thai Innovation to the Global Stage” featuring representatives from ATIP, funding agencies, the National Village and Urban Community Fund, and the private sector.

  • Research Presentations in more than 9 categories: Engineering, Energy and Technology; Physical, Health, and Biological Sciences; Agricultural Technology and Food; Business Administration and Liberal Arts; Fine and Applied Arts and Architecture; Social Engagement and Community Innovation; Routine to Research (R2R); Education; and competitions for inventions, innovations, and creative works, with participation from researchers across numerous universities and institutions nationwide.

  • University Network and Association Meetings aimed at strengthening academic cooperation.

The CRCI 2025 conference was not only a venue for disseminating research to the public, but also a driving force in strengthening researchers’ capacity, developing collaborative networks, and creating innovations that address the needs of local, national, and global development in a sustainable manner.
